Was the Nobel Peace Prize given to the wrong person? Because a newly conducted poll says otherwise.
A survey conducted by the Daily Mail claims to show US President Donald Trump far ahead of his predecessors in establishing world peace as a superpower.
The poll shows Donald Trump receiving high approval ratings from American voters for his role in brokering a historic Middle East deal that secured the release of Israeli hostages and established a fragile ceasefire in Gaza.
Trump’s 20-point peace plan, signed in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt, marked the end of the two-year Gaza war and promised a “new dawn." The agreement has reunited families affected by the October 7, 2023 Hamas terror attack and is being hailed as a breakthrough.
In the survey conducted by Daily Mail/JL, Voters overwhelmingly credited the MAGA chief with Middle East success, giving him higher recognition than his four immediate predecessors combined. Voters listed Middle East peace as Trump’s most successful achievement, followed by immigration.
Trump received 38 percent of the votes when asked which president had done the most for Middle East peace, compared with 16 percent for Barack Obama, 7 percent for Joe Biden, 7 percent for Bill Clinton, and 4 percent for George W. Bush. Twenty-seven percent of respondents said they were unsure.
'American verdict' confirms that 'Trump is the Peace President'
“Trump is the Peace President,” said James Johnson, co-founder of JL Partners. “That’s the verdict of the American public who give him the title of the living president to have done most for peace in the Middle East. And though Barack Obama won the Nobel Peace Prize, voters overwhelmingly think that Trump has done more for peace than Obama. Trump might not have the Nobel Peace Prize yet, but America has spoken: they believe he is the Peace President.”
Trump’s success in the Middle East contrasts with his Democratic predecessors. Biden, president during the October 7 terror attack, secured the release of 24 hostages over Thanksgiving but failed to negotiate a wider ceasefire. Obama, a Nobel Peace Prize recipient, came second in the poll with 16 percent support for Middle East peace achievements.
Trump also continues to focus on other global crises, holding a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin and preparing to host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House.
The poll was conducted on Tuesday and Wednesday among 1,004 registered voters. It carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 per cent.
