LUDHIANA: After the sensational Meerut drum murder case , the dead body of an unidentified man was found stuffed in a blue drum in Ludhiana’s Sherpur area on Wednesday.
The limbs of man were tied up with a piece of rope. Thereafter, he was wrapped in a bedsheet and then in a plastic gunny bag, which was stuffed in a blue color drum. The matter came to the fore on Wednesday morning, when some rag pickers noticed the drum in a vacant plot of the Sherpur area.
On receiving the information, Division number 6 police reached the spot.
Inspector Kulwant Kaur, SHO at Division number 6 police station, said that the rag pickers wanted to take the drum along with them and with that intention, they went near the drum. However, as soon as they noticed the foul smell, they informed the police.
“The police took out the gunny bag from the drum from which the dead body of a man who seemed to be around 40 years old, was found wrapped in a bedsheet, with his limbs tied up with a piece of rope. The body has started decomposing and therefore it is suspected the man had died at least two days ago” she added.
The police have lodged a murder case against an unidentified accused and initiated a probe to trace the victim as well as the accused.
In March this year, the dead body of a Merchant Navy officer Saurabh Rajput was found cemented in a blue drum. He was killed by his wife, Muskan Rastogi and her lover, Sahil Sukhla.
