It is well known how tiring playing in the major leagues can be, and a time-off in between games is something that every player looks forward to. The Arizona Diamondbacks starting pitcher, Eduardo Rodriguez was looking for one such day off before the big game against the New York Mets. However, his day off turned out to be better than intended.
Eduardo Rodriguez playing catch with a baseball fanEduardo Rodriguez was seen visiting Central Park in New York on his day off. While he had intended to visit the park to find a spot and play a simple game of catch, he encountered a fan, a truly talented fan, who made Rodriguez’s day.
While roaming in Central Park, Rodriguez and his friend met a fan who simply wanted to show the pitcher his skills. The next moment, Rodriguez joined the fan and played catch with him, while his friend captured the moment and Eduardo posted it on his Instagram account.
Eduardo ended up giving the baseball to the fan. The pitcher’s fans showed love on the video, and many appreciated how free Eduardo seemed in it.
One fan went on to say, “Finally doing what he loves,” referring to playing freely without any pressure.
Eduardo Rodriguez’s 2025 MLB performance After suffering from a left shoulder strain in 2024, Rodriguez is back on the field determined to prove his worth. He has played a total of five games this season and is slowly improving his stats, one step at a time.
In these five games, Rodriguez achieved an ERA of 4.40, allowed 30 hits, gave 17 runs, and just 3 home runs. His WHIP is currently at 1.29 and the pitcher has struck 34 players in this season itself.
His ongoing performance states why he's considered one of the best Diamondbacks pitchers. Besides, striking out 6 batters in just 2 innings is nothing short of a miracle. But, when it comes to Eduardo, it's all about hard work and determination.
While the stats are looking pretty good, it's still a long way for Eduardo. Fans are eagerly waiting to see what the Diamondbacks starting pitcher has for the season.
