Many Indian students still lack access to structured career guidance, and there is a growing demand for trained counsellors in the country. At the same time, nearly 70-80% of Indian women experience career breaks due to family responsibilities, resulting in a well-educated yet underutilised talent pool.
To help address these challenges, High School Moms and GIDE AI have launched GIDEPreneur—an initiative that supports women on career breaks in becoming certified career and college counsellors. By enabling them to work from home, GIDEPreneur aims to increase access to career guidance for students, while also creating flexible work opportunities for women.
Through the AI-powered GIDE Platform, the programme offers comprehensive training, resources, and certification. It helps women leverage their life experience, empathy, and ability to mentor young minds—all from the comfort of their homes.
“A mother’s intuition, when supported by structured training and tools, can play an important role in guiding students,” said a spokesperson for High School Moms. “GIDEPreneur is a step towards addressing the career guidance needs of students while encouraging more women to rejoin the workforce.”
According to McKinsey, increasing women’s participation in the workforce could add up to $770 billion to India’s GDP. Yet today, women contribute only 18%, among the lowest globally. GIDEPreneur aims to support this shift while also helping students make informed and confident career choices.
This initiative creates a network of home-based counsellors, promotes gender equity, and contributes to the evolving education ecosystem. GIDEPreneur is not just a programme—it’s a thoughtful step towards building a more inclusive and supportive future for both women and students in India.
