Donald Trump and Benjamin Netanyahu is set to meet this afternoon to work on ending the deadly Israel and Gaza war. The US president is said to have a new peace plan to push during their meeting, and is believed to be ready to turn on the Israeli prime minister should he refuse to co-operate.
This meeting comes as several countries, including the UK, have recently recognised Palestine as an independent state.
Mr Trump said on Truth Social on Sunday: "We have a real chance for GREATNESS IN THE MIDDLE EAST. ALL ARE ON BOARD FOR SOMETHING SPECIAL, FIRST TIME EVER. WE WILL GET IT DONE!!!"
He and Mr Netanyahu are scheduled to meet in the Oval Office, with a joint press conference expected later.
