The 1% Club player exposed by Lee Mack for cheating on partner in resurfaced clip

Lee Mack was left speechless after a contestant appeared to out himself as a love cheat live on The 1% Club. In a resurfaced ITV clip, host Lee asked what the contestant would do with the prize money if he won. Without hesitation, the man replied: "Got two girlfriends, take them both out to restaurants, but separate dates." The studio erupted in laughter but Lee's jaw dropped as he shot back: "Now I'm trying to work out if you're joking or not."

The contestant, named Abdul, nervously asked: "Is this on TV or not?" Lee immediately confirmed: "Oh, this is definitely going on TV." Trying to backtrack, Abdul muttered: "Just edit it to say my girlfriend." But Lee wasn't letting him off the hook. He advised: "Oh, that's a good idea. Just play it safe, you never know. Just say one this time."

When Lee gave him another chance to answer, Abdul switched tack, saying: "I'm taking my sweetheart out to dinner." Lee quipped: "Ah, what about the other one?"

The awkward exchange continued as Abdul insisted he had no idea what Lee was talking about. Lee pressed: "Yes you do. What's your girlfriend called?"

When Abdul refused to give a name, Lee teased: "You can't remember, you're getting mixed up between all the different names, aren't you?"

The cringeworthy moment quickly went viral, with viewers flocking to X/Twitter to weigh in. Some found it hilarious, flooding the site with laughing emojis.

Others weren't impressed, with one posting: "He came across as a bit of a t**t. Hope they both dumped him." Another wrote simply: "Maddd."

A third shared:"He fully exposed himself on national TV," and another joked: "The 2% Club."

Meanwhile, the show itself continues to enjoy major success.

The 1% Club has been nominated for Best Quiz Show at this year's National Television Awards, going up against The Chase, Richard Osman's House of Games and Michael McIntyre's The Wheel.

Since its launch in 2022, the format has picked up two NTAs and spawned international spin-offs in the US and Australia.

Each episode sees 100 hopefuls start with £1,000, answering 15 questions of increasing difficulty - from those answered correctly by 90 per cent of the public, right down to the fiendish puzzle that only one per cent got right.

But while the show is known for its tricky questions, this time it was a contestant's love life that posed the biggest conundrum - leaving Lee Mack and the audience in stitches.
