British tennis ace Emma Raducanu relaxes on a sun-kissed US holiday before teaming up with her new trainer - already the eighth coach in her short career. The 22 year-old former US Open champion has taken time away from the tennis courts after her Wimbledon disappointment to enjoy a sizzling getaway at Martha's Vineyard.

The Massachusetts island sits in the Atlantic just south of Cape Cod and is named after the wealthy mother-in-law of English explorer Bartholomew Gosnold, who funded his expedition there in 1602 - the first by a European. But there was no sign in the pictures of 22 year-old Spanish tennis star Carlos Alcaraz, who is rumoured to be close friends with Raducanu as they are also set to play doubles together at the US Open.

Raducanu posted holiday snaps of her trip onto her Instagram with the caption: "Ted's on the vineyard - heard it here first. Spontaneous 36h New England summer fun time w friends in MA."

Ranked no.33, the Brit played her last match on the 1st of August when she capitulated to world no.7 Amanda Anisimova 6-2 6-1 in the 3rd round in Montreal.

Now she has hired Rafael Nadal's former coach Francisco Roig, 57, to be her eighth coach. The Spaniard was in the box for all 22 of Nadal's Grand Slam titles.

Raducanu has been with old friend Mark Petchey since Miami and results have been strong but he had to split his time between coaching and his broadcast commitments.

Petchey himself said in July: "We are very aware she needs a second coach to come on board and maybe just one coach, not me, as well."

It appears that latter option has been chosen, although it is understood that Petchey will remain close to team Raducanu in an informal role.

The US Open will get underway at the Billie Jean King National Tennis Centre in New York on August 25.

Singles action will run until September 7, with the men's final scheduled for that date, with Raducanu's highly anticipated partnership with Carlos Alcaraz set to take place across August 19 and 20.
