Brighton are wanting a hefty £60million to part ways with Joao Pedro this summer. In recent days, the Seagulls have turned down a bid of up to £50m from Newcastle for the Brazilian international forward.
Brighton, known for their stubborness during negotations, are also aware that Chelsea have the 23-year-old on their attacking radar, which could potentially drive up Pedro's price tag.
Brighton acquired Pedro from Watford in a deal just under £30m in the summer of 2023, and they're adamant about doubling their investment - according to The Mirror.
Watford also hold an undisclosed sell-on clause, which is set to influence Brighton's strategy at the negotiation table.
Pedro, who has netted 30 goals in 70 appearances for Albion, was excluded from Fabian Hurzeler's squad for the final two Premier League matches of the season following an alleged training ground altercation with Dutch defender Jan Paul van Hecke.
