Jobe Bellingham has spent the first few years of his senior career living with only his father following brother blockbuster transfer to in 2023. When the Los Blancos star first moved abroad to join Borussia Dortmund in 2020, their parents reached an agreement that one of them would follow him to Germany.
The brothers' mother, Denise, was the parent who got to move to Dortmund and eventually to the Spanish capital with Jude. That meant the younger Jobe, whose burgeoning career leaves him on the brink of the Premier League with Sunderland aged 19, lives at home with his father Mark, a former semi-professional footballer. And despite Jude now being 21 and a Champions League and La Liga champion, Denise continues to live with him - much to the ire of Jobe.
"Maybe if Jude could learn how to cook and drive, mum could come back and live with me. But nah, Jude is useless," the forward quipped in Out Of The Floodlights, a documentary about his brother's life in Spain.
The family remain close and are in regular contact. However, Jude and Denise will not be present for the biggest game of Jobe's career to date today. Fifteen minutes after Sunderland's Championship play-off final clash with Sheffield United kicks off at 3pm, Jude will be lining up for Real Madrid against Real Sociedad in La Liga.
Jobe has played a key part in Sunderland's improvement in recent years. In his debut campaign last term, he scored seven goals as the Black Cats survived the drop back into League One. This season, often playing in a deeper midfield role than the previous year, he has scored four times. His combative displays have drawn obvious comparisons with his older brother.
Denise will likely be glued to score updates for that game while she watches Jude play for Madrid. The England international calls his mother his 'queen' and their relationship is particularly close. She is still known to drive him to training.
"The role my mum is playing is massive," he has previously said. "It is probably the biggest role of anyone, more than my coaches and managers, to be honest."

The brothers share a good relationship, attending each other's matches when their schedules allow. Jobe was present at last season's Champions League final and embraced Jude on the pitch following Madrid's victory over Borussia Dortmund.
When Jobe scored twice against Rotherham in August 2023, shortly after his brother's switch to Spain, Madrid boss Ancelotti joked that he had signed the wrong brother.
Jude said at the time: "I'm in shock that he's scored twice and then I'll never forget, as we're coming out, Ancelotti goes to me, 'F*cking hell, we brought the wrong one.' And I'm like, 'you're joking'. He says, 'No seriously, I'm going to bring him in.'
"I said, 'Well where are you going to play him?' He says, 'In your position.' I was like, 'F*ck that!'. And then finally he gave me a little smirk and my heart just dropped and I thought, 'Okay, fine'. And then I'm like, no pressure for today!"
