Inside Alan Titchmarsh's £1.2million home in quaint market town with huge garden

Legendary presenter Alan Titchmarsh has made a living by telling other people how to manage their homes and gardens. The Love Your Garden host provides viewers with top tips and inspiration and has even been recognised by the King for his services to horticulture and charity.

The 76-year-old star said he was "thrilled and delighted" to receive his CBE from King Charles at Windsor Castle on Tuesday. It comes as he was appointed the prestigious title in the monarch's 2025 New Year's Honours List. Titchmarsh first started sharing his gardening knowledge with fans when he hosted the gardening show House in a Garden on BBC Radio 2 in 1988. He then changed career from radio presenter to TV presenter as he took on the role of horticulture expert on the BBC TV show Nationwide. Titchmarsh then went on to present the Chelsea Flower Show for BBC television in 1983, and in 1996, he took over the reins as the host of the BBC's Gardeners' World.

This was when he gave fans a glimpse into his own home, as some episodes were filmed in his own spectacular garden. However, he and his wife Alison relocated to their Grade II-listed Georgian farmhouse in Hampshire in 2002.

The property, which they now call home, is set within four acres of land, boasts 10 mini waterfalls, a large greenhouse, a shed, and an abundance of lush greenery.

Alan's home appears to be a farmhouse-style property, with beautiful exposed brick and wooden beams.

The stunning property is situated in Alton, Hampshire and is reportedly valued at a whopping £1.25million, according to Entertainment Daily. The bustling town is often described as one of Hampshire's friendliest and was once home to renowned novelist Jane Austen.

The town is the perfect place to design an idyllic garden as it is also known for its natural beauty, peaceful countryside and a mix of vibrant shops, eateries and pubs.

As well as his home in Hampshire, Alan also has a property in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. In 2021, he told the Telegraph Magazine how he and Alison spend plenty of time there, particularly in the summer.
