If shoppers are looking for an alternative to a dehumidifier - a tool that's usually big and expensive - there are now new gadgets on the market that are just as effective, smaller, and cheaper. Customers are calling one product in particular 'so nice,' and 'not bulky' as it helps them with moisture and mould.
The ProBreeze Osmo 1.3L Moisture Absorber with 700g Tablet is now priced at £29.99, and it has gathered lots of five-star reviews. This gadget is small, and compact, so it won't be an eyesore in homes, but it still gets the job done effectively.
A simple way to tackle damp and excess moisture in the home, the Osmo doesn't require any plugs or batteries, and it doesn't make any noise. Its 360-degree perforated design draws in moisture from every angle, and using it is straightforward when shoppers drop in the included 700g tablet, which gradually dissolves to absorb humidity.
The collected water can last for up to 100 days, depending on room conditions, and when it's full, customers simply replace the tablet for a more sustainable solution. Other details include a child-proof lid, a wide spout for easy emptying and a refillable design that cuts down on waste.
There are other options on the market to choose from, such as the UniBond Aero 360 Opaque and white Moisture absorber for £14 from B&Q, which is designed to 'combat excess moisture and condensation' in the homes.
Lakeland also has the Absodry Moisture Absorber for £27.99, which comes in the colours blue, grey, green and pink and includes 600g of moisture-absorbing crystals.
The Osmo, however, has been rated highly on the ProBreeze website. One person said: "This little absorber is great, I used it on my landing to help with the moisture from our bathroom, and it really works a treat."
Another wrote: "This looks so nice, not bulky, brought for sons university house as felt it needed it, simple set up and easy to manage." A third happy shopper said: "Looks great and it works.
"Have been looking for something like this for ages. Well worth the money." Not everyone agreed, however, as one person said: "Happy with it, does what it's meant to, but thought it was bigger than it actually is." Another said: "It's OK... but blocks are expensive."
