A 'brutal' war film that is said to be Bruce Willis' 'best movie' has been added to Prime Video.
Tears of the Sun is currently part of the ever changing retail giant's streaming library.
The story of the film is even based on real life events which may be shocking for some viewers.
Despite not being one of the Hollywood actor's most well received critically, it still has a place in the heart of many fans.
Now, it's easier than ever for film fans to rediscover the title thanks to its availability via Prime.
It was directed by Antoine Fuqua, who also helmed Training Day and would go on to make Olympus Has Fallen as well as The Equalizer trilogy with Denzel Washington.
The story follows a special operation commander, along with his troops, who set off to rescue Dr Lena from the jungles of Nigeria. However, Dr Lena agrees to join them only if they agree to rescue 70 other refugees too.
While the depicts a fictitious rescue mission amidst the 21st-century version of the civil war in Nigeria, it took some inspiration from real life.
The story is based on a mission of the Canadian Joint Task Force Two that took place in Colombia. An ex-member of the commando wrote the original story and suggested it when he met the production team of 1996 film Executive Decision on set.
Meanwhile, former U.S. Navy SEAL Harry Humphries was a techinal adviser for the film having previously worked on Black Hawk Down.
Despite only managing a score of 34% on Rotten Tomatoes, the film has since gained a new appreciation in the years since its release. Many acknowledge its depiction of conflict
A critic for Collider claimed: "Tears of the Sun is a brutal depiction of modern warfare that features Willis in a riveting role as a determined veteran."
They also added: "Tears of the Sunlacks the sensationalism that is common in modern war films, as it understands how scary, confusing, and upsetting it can be to be in the midst of an armed conflict where choices have to be made between the lesser of two evils."
It holds a higher place in the minds of many fans, such as one who suggests: "The movie Tears of the sun is an all time classic and I can't help watch it over and over again. The scenes project a perception of power struggles that are captivating."
Many suggest that it is one of the best lead performance from Die Hard star Willis. One person said: "Tears of The Sun is for many Bruce Willis's best film. There are many reasons why its so good but for me it's Bruce himself, he's just so good in it and with Antoine Fuqua directing the whole film is excellent. Made at a time when Bruce was at the top of his game as an actor, he really does shine in this film."
While another added: "Bruce Willis gives a performance to remember, heart wrenching and engrossing and will always stay with me. A tragic tale and a must see movie."
