India's new Test captain Shubman Gill said here on Thursday that winning the Test series against England, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa is a bigger achievement than winning the IPL title.
When asked which he would put above winning the Test series in England and the IPL title, he said, "Definitely winning the Test series."
He said, "You don't get many opportunities to tour England as a captain. If you are among the best in your generation, then maybe two tours or three."
Gill said in the press conference, "IPL happens every year and we get a chance every year. I think winning in England, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa is big...
Gill may not have experience of playing with the red ball in England but he is not distracted by the challenge.
He said, "Many people say that your team does not have that much experience, but the good thing is that we will not have that much burden of expectations because most of the players have not played in England. This will make a big difference.
