Tyson Fury could be left stuck in the mud regarding his boxing comeback as Jake Paul sets his sights on disrupting the Gypsy King's plans.
The boxing community were left stunned earlier this month after the 'Gypsy King' announced his decision to make a return to boxing - despite retiring from the sport in January after losing twice to Oleksandr Usyk.
. The British heavyweight has his eyes set on a third bout with Usyk next April at Wembley and has not ruled out a dust-up with Anthony Joshua either. However, the 36-year-old could find himself without a dance partner if Paul has his way. The 28-year-old YouTube star turned boxer has been vocal about wanting to take on Joshua, a two-time world champion.
Speaking to DAZN before Usyk's scrap with Daniel Dubois, where he was in attendance, Paul dropped a bombshell confirming his fight with Joshua is in the works for next year. "Yeah 100 per cent it's going to happen. We're going to do the unthinkable and create one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing," he boasted. "It's not even about it being realistic or not, it's gonna happen so fasten your seatbelts. And when I knock him out I'll go down in the history books forever," reports All Out Fighting.

Even Eddie Hearn, who initially had reservations, concedes that a clash between Paul and Joshua might just materialise, especially after Paul agreed to a mere one per cent of the fight purse. "Don't ask me how. Don't ask me why," Hearn remarked. "But if people want Anthony Joshua to obliterate Jake Paul in one night, maybe we make it happen."
He added: "You know, obviously it'll be up to AJ and myself what AJ does, and [Most Valuable Promotions CEO] Nakisa [Bidarian] and Jake, what they do – but also the power of Turki Alalshikh bringing it together, making it a mega-event. We're up for it. You know, it's not a fight we targeted. It's not a fight we anticipated. But as I said, if it's there and it's open and it's a running-up fight before Tyson Fury, why not?"It probably breaks the internet. It breaks the platform. It probably delivers the biggest numbers of any fight we've ever seen, and that's the crazy world we live in. For me, I don't expect it to be competitive, but do you want to see Jake Paul flattened? There you go. It's on a plate right in front of you."
As Joshua and Paul gear up for a possible showdown, all eyes are on what Fury might do next. Despite being keen on a third fight with Usyk, the WBO seems to have other ideas, hinting at ordering Usyk to defend his titles against Joseph Parker instead. Frank Warren, speaking after Saturday night's clash between the Ukrainian and Dubois, was clear about his preference for Usyk's next opponent: "His [Usyk's] first defence of his title is the WBO belt and that will be against Joe Parker. So that again would be a great fight.
"I mean I would like to see the Joe Parker fight. Joe deserves it. He's on a run himself, same as Daniel was on, and that's the fight that's been ordered. So one way or another it will happen, or Joe will fight for the vacant title. Tyson has made it very clear to me; he'd love that [Usyk] fight, he would love to do that fight and it'd be a big fight."
When is Tyson Fury's next fight? After confirming his comeback to the squared circle, British heavyweight star Fury announced his third clash with Usyk is scheduled for 18 April 2026 at Wembley Stadium. The 36 year old posted a promotional image on Instagram showing himself alongside the Ukrainian champion, writing: "April 18, 2026 Wembley Stadium. The trilogy! UK. contact @spencerbrownmrgoldstar for tickets."
Having completed 24 rounds against the Ukrainian boxer, the 'Gypsy King' maintains he secured victory in their December rematch. "My last fight was a clear f****** victory for The Gypsy King. Anybody in boxing can see that. A complete load of dogs***," he declared. "I want a fair fight, I don't want any favours, I want a fair fight and a fair result. Which I know I didn't [get]. I thought I won it by five rounds. I watched it 250 times. Each way I never see it as a way for him to win. They can do what they want. If they say it's Tuesday it's Tuesday."
