New character Lewis Barton is hiding something it seems, ahead of his debut on the soap.
Actor Bradley Riches has spilled all on his new role, and the secrets his soap alter ego could be harbouring. Lewis will come face-to-face with his long-lost brother Ross Barton next week, played by Mike Parr.
Ross will be thrown to learn he has a secret brother, and soon he's forced to face his dark past. Ross is torn over whether to let slip the details of their mother Emma Barton's wicked ways, after she killed her son Finn Barton, her husband James Barton as well as trying to hurt others.
But it seems Ross isn't the only one hiding something from his new family member. Bradley has revealed his character is "keeping secrets of his own", while there's discoveries set to be made about the new character.

Teasing what's ahead, Bradley revealed: "Lewis doesn't get all the answers he wants and he's determined to get the answers. He finds himself in a bit of a pickle about something because Lewis has his own secrets.
"It becomes Ross' secret and Lewis' secret, together they can build this bond to keep each other's secrets." On Lewis' reason for tracking down Ross, Bradley shared: "He wants the answers he just wants to know what mum was like.
"Ross is very like, you don't wanna know anything, she was a horrible woman, end of conversation." On the fallout of Lewis finding out the truth about Emma, he teased it might drive Lewis and Ross further apart.
He explained: "Partly he's grateful knowing the truth but also, they weren't telling the truth the whole time so his brain is going I can't trust these people. He's processing what happened with his mum, there's a lot of feelings involved."

Bradley recently told The all about how he landed the role. He said: "I was at the NTAs for , and when we were going into the taxis on the way home. [Someone on the press team] came over and said Laura would love to have a video for her daughter.
"So I was speaking to Laura and I asked, ‘What do you do on the show?’ and she said, ‘I’m the producer.’ I said I’d always wanted to be in a soap. Emmerdale’s my granddad’s favourite. Laura said, ‘This is Faye, the casting director.’
"They said they’d message my agent to get me in for a meeting. I thought yeah, right, I bet they message my agent.
"But the next week they actually did! I came in for the role of Dylan first, but then this role of Lewis Barton came up."
Emmerdale airs weeknights at 7:30pm on ITV1 and ITVX, with an hour-long episode on Thursdays. * Follow Mirror Celebs and TV on , , , , , and .
