Netflix hit Emily in Paris'assistant director Diego Borella has died at the age of 47, while filming the fifth series of the show.
It has been reported Diego died after collapsing on set of the romantic comedy, moments before they were due to shoot the final scene of the fifth series in Venice.
Local reports claim medics rushed to the Hotel Danieli around 7pm on Thursday. Despite their efforts, they were unable to save Diego, La Repubblica has reported.
It is understood filming for Emily in Paris has been stopped following the wake of Diego's death.
Diego was a Venetian professional who worked in film, visual arts and literature and is said to have recently undertaken writing fairytales and children's stories.

Filming for the fifth series was expected to wrap up in the coming days. A shoot for Emily in Paris was scheduled to go from August 15 to August 25.
Days before the tragic turn of events, Emily in Paris announced a release date for its fifth season. Netflix confirmed all 10 episodes of the fifth outing will premiere on Thursday, 18th December earlier this week.
The fifth series is set in Italy, with main character Emily Cooper, played by Lily Collins, working for Agence Grateau in Rome and adjusting to life again in another romantic European city – after she moved from Chicago to Paris in the first season.
Emily in Paris' fourth series saw the protagonist fall for Italian Marcello, who is played by Eugenio Franceschini, 33. Emily's new romance saw her leave Paris for Italy - marking an official move for the show.
Show creator Darren Star previously said of the upcoming series: "This season is a tale of two cities. Rome and Paris.
"Straddling both, Emily takes love and life to the next level."
He added: "From Parisian rooftops to Roman ruins, we can’t wait to share where Emily’s next chapter takes us."
Meanwhile, Netflix promotional pictures also saw Emily in Venice, cruising on a speedboat.
A string of cast members were confirmed to be returning for the fifth stint but one show favourite who isn't returning is Camille Razat play the role of Camille, Emily's friend and love rival.
Camille announced in April this year that she had left the Netflix franchise on Instagram. Sharing a selection of snaps from her time on the show, she wrote in the caption: "After an incredible journey, I’ve made the decision to step away from Emily in Paris.
"It has been a truly wonderful experience, one filled with growth, creativity, and unforgettable memories. I’m deeply grateful to @starmandarren and the entire team at @netflix and @paramountpics for their trust and for giving me the opportunity to bring Camille to life and leaving the door open for her return, as she will always be a part of Emily In Paris world."
