Aunt Ophelia in Wednesday season 2 may have already been 'unveiled' in part 1

The first part of Wednesday's second season is now available on Netflix, featuring the initial four episodes that follow Wednesday Addams (portrayed by Jenna Ortega) in the aftermath of losing her psychic abilities.

As she delves into a string of mysterious deaths, Wednesday realises that the killer is always one step ahead, seemingly taunting her. Intriguingly, it seems the murderer, who was unveiled at the conclusion of the first four episodes, had managed to obstruct Wednesday's psychic powers.

During a heart-to-heart with her mother, Morticia (played by Catherine Zeta Jones), Wednesday learns about her Aunt Ophelia, another family member with psychic abilities, who had spent some time at Willow Hill, reports the Express.

Morticia recounts how their mother, Grandmama Hester Frump (Joanna Lumley), had abandoned Aunt Ophelia in her hour of need.

Determined not to repeat history, Morticia insists that Wednesday should abandon her pursuit, which explains her eagerness for Wednesday to let go of the chase.

A new theory suggests that Aunt Ophelia might have made an unnoticed appearance in the fourth episode.

When Uncle Fester paid a visit to Willow Hill in search of Ophelia years ago, he found that she had already vanished.

At the episode's end, Wednesday stumbles upon the Long Term Outcast Integration Study - or LOIS for short - a clandestine programme.

All the outcasts reported dead were actually being held captive, their deaths fabricated so they could be used as experimental subjects.

Given Aunt Ophelia's potent psychic abilities that she struggled to control, she would have been an ideal candidate for experimentation.

When Wednesday interacted with each of the outcasts, one woman with long brunette hair appeared to have a distinct reaction upon seeing her.

This woman, who was questioning if Wednesday had come to kill her, seemed to establish a unique bond with Wednesday, who later assisted her in escaping from the facility.

All signs point to this woman potentially being Wednesday's Aunt Ophelia and, now that she has regained her freedom, the pair might uncover their family ties.

Wednesday season 2 part 1 is currently available on Netflix. Part 2 premieres on September 3.
