Arne Slot takes decisive Trent Alexander-Arnold action after departing Liverpool star booed

Liverpool manager Arne Slot is intent on drawing a line under the saga after during last week's draw with . The right-back - who has confirmed he will leave Anfield when his contract expires this summer - was booed by sections of the support.

Slot's champions have two games left - a trip to on Monday and a home meeting with on the final weekend of the season. Ahead of the trip to the Amex Stadium, the manager made clear his feelings when it came to Alexander-Arnold.

“I was already happy no-one asked about it!" Slot told reporters. "People talked about it to me and we had the reaction from the fans in the stadium, pundits talks, and now let's draw a line and focus on the fact we've won the league and focus on that feeling and be not distracted that much by Trent's situation.

"As you know, I wasn't here the last few days. Neither was Trent, so today is the first day back, a good lead up to our game on Monday, it's difficult for the champions to train so many days in a row, so we need a good balance to be well prepared for Brighton.

"These players never had a few days off during the season, so other teams maybe had some time off, we hardly ever did. I wanted to make that clear."

Alexander-Arnold was left out of the starting line-up against Arsenal, with Conor Bradley given a chance to stake his claim to become the Reds' starting right-back next term. Slot indicated it was too early to know how his starting XI and squad will look for the Brighton game, though he previously indicated he was keen for Bradley to get a run of games.

"To become a very good player you have to be available every week and that is the first step he has to take next season," before that Arsenal game. "But we have confidence in Conor as a very good full-back for Liverpool.”

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler will be able to welcome back captain Lewis Dunk for the match. However, it looks like coming too soon for former Liverpool midfielder James Milner, who hasn't played since August due to injury.

"Lewis [Dunk] is back in the squad. Joel [Veltman] will be back in the squad," Hurzeler said. "It’s all very positive news. Kaoru [Mitoma] had some minor issues, so hopefully he will be a possibility for us in the squad. Overall it’s very positive and we have more options.

"Igor [Julio] is also part of the squad, for sure. James [Milner] is doing rehab on the pitch, he's getting closer. I'm not sure if we will see him this season, but it's a nice process what he's going through now.

"Georginio Rutter is also very close, so hopefully he'll be back with the team next week. There's a small chance, like I said from the beginning, that he can be an option for the end of the season, for the last game."
