Indore (Madhya Pradesh): In a first for any government hospital in Madhya Pradesh, Indore’s MY Hospital has launched an innovative system to make lab testing more accessible for patients by setting up sample collection points on every floor of the hospital’s main building.
With this initiative, patients will no longer have to scrawl across the large hospital campus for tests and diagnostics. Each floor now has a dedicated lab table manned by two trained attendants who will collect samples and send them to the central laboratory for testing. This major step is aimed at saving patients time and effort and enabling quicker diagnosis and treatment.
MGM Medical College Dean Dr Arvind Ghanghoria said, ‘This is the first time such a system has been implemented in MY Hospital. Earlier, the doctors had to call lab staff separately, which caused delays. Now, with collection points on every floor, reports reach the concerned doctors faster, ensuring timely medical intervention.’
The reports are also made directly available to the treating doctor, enabling quick decisions even if the doctor is not physically present at the time.
Indore’s Sanitation Model Steals the Spotlight At National Conference In GurugramPatients have welcomed the move, stating that they no longer need to run around for getting tests done. ‘The staff collects our samples right in the ward whenever needed,’ a patient said.
Dr Ghanghoria added that this initiative is a part of their larger vision to make MY Hospital the best in the country, especially for underprivileged and economically weaker sections, by ensuring access to top-quality treatment along with all government welfare schemes and health facilities.
MGM Medical College Dean, Dr Arvind Ghanghoria said, "Our vision is to make MY Hospital not just the best in Madhya Pradesh but one of the finest government hospitals in the country where the poor and underprivileged can receive timely, accessible and quality healthcare. The introduction of floor-wise sample collection is a significant step in that direction"
