Mumbai: Customs officers at CSMI Airport, Mumbai, booked a case on 24th and 25th May, 2025, involving the seizure of suspected cocaine weighing 866 grams having an illicit market value of approx. Rs 8.66 Crore. One foreign passenger was arrested.
On the basis of spot profiling, one foreign passenger who arrived in Mumbai by Flight No. UR430 on 24th May, 2025, was intercepted by the Customs Officers at the airport. Upon questioning, the passenger exhibited signs of nervousness and uneasiness.
Further examination and medical investigation revealed that the passenger had swallowed multiple yellow-coloured pellets, which were later found to contain white coloured crumbled substance purported to be Cocaine.
Customs officers, under medical supervision, vide Panchanama dated 28th May, 2025, recovered the contraband purported to be cocaine having a net weight of 866 grams. Its approximate value in illicit market is Rs 8,66,00,000/-. The said passenger was placed under arrest under the provisions of the NDPS Act, 1985. Further investigation is going on.
