Mumbai: A 55-year-old woman died in a road accident in Malad East on Thursday. The deceased, identified as Indu Brahmanvade, was a homemaker. She was crossing the road when a bus hit her, resulting in her death. The Bangur Nagar Police detained the bus driver and were in the process of registering an FIR against him at the time of going to press.
According to the police, Brahmanvade lived with her husband and two daughters in the Gate No. 7 area of Malwani. On Thursday evening, she went to Kaanchpada on Malad Link Road to buy household provisions. Around 5:30 pm, she was crossing from the south-bound arm of Malad Link Road to the north-bound side when the accident occurred.

As Brahmanvade was crossing in front of the bus, the driver failed to notice her and started the vehicle, hitting her. She was crushed under the front wheel and suffered severe injuries. The police were alerted and she was rushed to a doctor, but she did not survive.
