Some moments in life are quite meaningful and unforgettable—saying “Ma” for the first time, getting a warm hug from your dad, or being fed hot home-cooked food by your mother after a long, exhausting day. For many in India, these gestures go far beyond biological relationships. A mother’s care is often extended to anyone who enters her home with respect and warmth. And recently, one such heartwarming moment from Kolkata captured this sentiment perfectly.
In a now-viral video, an American vlogger named Dustin Cheverier was left speechless and visibly emotional after being lovingly fed by an Indian woman with her own hands. The gesture was both simple and adorable.
The video, titled “Indian Mom Feeds Me Like A Baby”, shows Dustin sitting on the dining table beside the woman, who is presumed to be either his friend’s mother or a host during his homestay in India.

He tries to eat by himself later
The woman mixes dal and rice with her hands, then gently feeds him bite after bite. Dustin breaks into smiles between eating, clearly moved by the affection and care.
“Mum is mixing my food for me, just to make sure I eat it right,” he says warmly in the clip. At one point, he gently tries to take over and feed himself, but she playfully insists, continuing to feed him like he’s one of her own.

Video goes viral
The internet couldn’t get enough. The video has racked up over 2,30,000 likes, with thousands sharing their own memories of being fed by their parents.
“She’s not just feeding you food, she’s giving you love,” one user wrote.
“My mom still does this when I say I don’t want to eat. Indian moms are just like this,” said another.
The comments section quickly described the now-viral moment as “Just Indian Mom Things.”
