Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday assured that those responsible for the deadly blast near Delhi’s Red Fort will be brought to justice, adding that a swift and transparent investigation is already underway.
Speaking at the ‘Delhi Defence Dialogue', his remarks come a day after a high-intensity explosion at a traffic signal near the Red Fort Metro Station killed at least 12 people and injured several others.
“I wish to assure my fellow citizens that the country’s leading investigative agencies are conducting a swift and thorough inquiry into the incident. The findings of the investigation will soon be made public. I want to firmly assure the nation that those responsible for this tragedy will be brought to justice and will not be spared under any circumstances,” Singh said.

The national capital remains on high alert following Monday’s explosion, with security tightened around key installations including the Red Fort, Delhi airport, and railway stations. Several agencies including the Delhi Police and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) are probing the incident. Additionally, a case has been registered under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and the Explosives Act.
The blast, which ripped through a car near the Lal Qila Metro Station during peak evening traffic, left several vehicles charred and caused panic in the area. Forensic teams and bomb disposal units have been deployed to collect evidence from the site as authorities investigate possible terror links behind the attack.
