Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 5 (ANI): BRS leader Harish Rao on Sunday criticised the BJP for "discriminating" against Telangana.
While addressing a large-scale BRS workers' meeting in Gandhari mandal of Yellareddy constituency, Rao slammed the BJP's slogan "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas," calling it "pure bakwaas," and accused the party of favouring North India over Telangana in multiple sectors.
Rao emphasised that the people of Telangana have realised which government truly works for their welfare. "When asked who will return to power, people are clearly saying Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS)," he added.
Rao slammed the BJP for delivering lofty dialogues about "nation" and "dharma," while completely ignoring justice to Telangana. Prime Minister Modi says "Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas" but in reality, it's just "pure bakwaas."
He highlighted several examples, including the allocation of Rs 100 crore for Andhra Pradesh's 2027 Godavari Pushkaralu, while Telangana received nothing, despite the Godavari river flowing into the state first. He also noted that Telangana, which elected eight BJP MPs, received no central funds, while Andhra Pradesh benefited from special packages.
"The BJP never stood with the poor, farmers, or Dalits. It only works for North India. Why is Telangana treated like it's not even part of India?" Rao said.
Rao further added, "When Andhra Pradesh won elections, the BJP bent over backwards to help the TDP. If BRS MPs had won, we would have forced Delhi to allocate rightful funds to Telangana. The Central Government announced 157 new medical colleges, not even one was given to Telangana."
He pointed out that under Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao's leadership, Telangana has made remarkable progress: 24/7 power supply, the Rythu Bandhu farmer support scheme, completion of irrigation projects under Mission Kakatiya, and procurement of every grain of paddy.
Rao described Nizamabad as the rice bowl of Telangana, highlighting that the state, once dependent on imports, now feeds half the country.
He appealed to voters to elect strong MPs to secure Telangana's rightful share of central funds, asserting that the state is ready for a BRS return to power.
"The wave across Telangana is clear. People want KCR back. Wherever you go, the mood is strongly in favour of BRS," Rao said. (ANI)
