Today, when tech companies are investing billions of dollars in Artificial Intelligence (AI), its capabilities are constantly increasing. Now, Google has claimed that its in-house developed AI agent stopped a cyber attack before it started.
'Big Sleep' stopped a potential cyber attack.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai said in a post on X that an AI agent named Big Sleep foiled a "cyber attack" with the help of the company's security team. This AI system has been developed by DeepMind and Project Zero, and its job is to find security threats that have not yet surfaced.
In November last year, this AI successfully identified a real security flaw for the first time. Since then, this system has detected many new flaws. Google said that with the help of Big Sleep as well as threat intelligence, it was able to stop a major vulnerability before it was used.
The beginning of a new revolution in the field of security?
Google has not specified how long it has been actively using Big Sleep for security monitoring, but has indicated that it has been active behind the scenes for quite some time. The introduction of this technology could transform cybersecurity from a reactive process to a proactive one.
