BPSC 71st Prelims: Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued important information that the dates of the 71st Combined (Preliminary) Competitive Examination and Assistant Branch Officer Examination have been changed. The Commission said that this change has been made due to unavoidable reasons.
Now the exam will be held on this day.
Earlier, the date of the 71st Combined Preliminary Examination was fixed as 10 September 2025, which has now been changed to 13 September 2025. At the same time, the Assistant Branch Officer Examination, which was earlier to be held on 13 September 2025, will now be held on 10 September 2025. Candidates have been advised to prepare themselves as per the new dates and keep checking updates regularly on the official website of the Commission.
Number of Vacancies
Bihar Public Service Commission has increased the number of vacancies under the 71st Combined Preliminary Competitive Examination. Earlier, this exam was to be conducted for 1,250 posts, but now 14 additional posts have been added to it.
These include 14 posts of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP). Now this exam will be conducted for a total of 1,264 vacancies.
The preliminary exam will be in an objective format.
This preliminary exam will be of an objective type (MCQ), which will include a single general studies question paper. The exam will be of total of 150 marks and its duration is fixed for two hours. In the question paper, the candidates' understanding of subjects like general knowledge, current affairs, history, geography, civics, economy and science will be tested.
